My Lovely Class..

Our class will finish soon .. But I won't forget my lovely teachers and classmates...This is a unforgettable class,,,I had a wonderful experience in this class...Even though our class will finish soon,our friendship won't finish.
I hope we will keep posting the blog after the class so that we can keep touching with each other ...I will miss your guys......

Online games

Actually, I am not very familiar with the computer game.. Because I am not good at it..

But I always heard many parents complain their children have a lot of troubles because addict to online game ..

On my opinion, teenager is the biggest group of people who addict to online game.

They were absorbed by the game. Some people think that people addict to the online games is the consequence of their personality or social anxiety. On the other hand, some people think

that people addict to the online game lead to they isolate from social activities. From the point of me, both of these situation are possible. It is really hard to say which ideal is right. However, we all know if we can't control ourselves, it will lead to a lot of problems, such as violent, suicide, no social interaction, lack of confidence...

On the other hand, we can't deny that the benefits are brought by the computer games ... It can improve our patience, and ability that deal with some problems.

Anyway, I am not a computer player. But I think every thing won't be good if we overdose them . .. Also, every thing have good side and bad side.

My research project

Congratulation!!!! I have finished my research paper on time at the end .. I can't believe it.. Even I never did the research paper in my language before.. Although it is very hard to start, the reference also let me fell frustrated. In china, we needn't write the references, also, I need find it again from the sources. Moreover, organize the information was very hard for me,because I have too much information. I didn't know which one I should focus on.. Anyway,I am very happy I can finish it, I know it is not the best one in the Class,, but I have won myself, also I have learned a lot from this unforgettable experience..I am proud of myself

On Tuesday, I have finished my presentation... I felt so relax ... during these days,,I dream of yoga, live with yoga, eating with yoga ... it was crazy ... but i like it .. At beginning time.. I go to yoga class because of this project.. but after few classes,, I really love it ... But in the presentation ,, I should find some yoga music ... it is really relax .. Before the presentation,, I feel so nervous ,, because I am a person who want do everything in perfect ... Actually ,, this kind of personality has both side .. In positive way, it can push me work so hard ,,, In negative way ,, it will make always feel worry, nervous ... Anyway,, this is my personality, I have to learn how to live with them ..
However, I have did my best , I think everyone tried their best..

Population

Population is a hot topic in the world. Industrial countries lack of population, developing countries over population . It become two extremist, population can't be balanced. In my opinion, I am pessimistic about the future in terms of population. Because of two reasons. The first one is people in industrial country don't want to have baby early. They have high pressure from society to push them work and work. In industrial countries, they have good economic, high consume, strong competitors, people always consider about the money first. Hence, they have no time to look after the baby and they can't afford the huge amount of money. I suppose people will more busy in the future because of economical development, also the role of woman have changed a lot. Children is not their only life anymore, they have begun had many other interests. The second reason is population in developing country still grow up. Even many developing countries have had some policies to control the population. For example, the one child policy in China, each family just can have one children. But still have many people keep birthing. Actually, no body have right to stop a new life coming to the world, but reality is cruel. Even the situation has much better than before, but the number of population still rise.
Anyway, though balance population in the world is a tough task and need a really long process, we still should to do something to prevent a scare consequence. Every people has responsibility. Also, government play a very important role. We should work together.

Summary of public lecture Ivy
We went to the lecture “Dose public education benefit public” on April 29. It held in a coffee shop.
The speaker named Noel Burke. He is the Dean of school of extended learning. He used and worked with public education system for 55 years. Also, he used to study in England. He found that the public education system is very different from Montreal. He has done a lot of researches on this topic, so he gave us a wonderful lecture.
Firstly, I would like to talk about the thesis of the speaker. Noel Burk presented his idea about how people participate in public education so that they can improve it. There were two accepts. One was the role of policy; another was the role of school.
Secondly, I would like to give some critiques. Noel Burk is a really good speaker. He spoke in expressive way and normal pacing. He had a good organization so that we can understand well. Also, he talked about his personal experiences, so we didn’t feel bored. Moreover, audiences had different backgrounds. Some of them are educators, some of them are retired principles, and some of them are parents. Everyone listened carefully and involved in the topic. An addition, the question period lasted one hour. It sounds like very long, but it was very interesting and useful. We got much more information in the question period. Anyway, this lecture was very nice. It was very deferent from others. It held in the coffee shop and in conversational style. There are more interaction between speaker and audience. Everyone asked questions, discussed questions and gave comments. We didn’t feel be isolated from other people.
Finally, I would like to give the summary of the lecture. The lecture started with the background of the public education. Noel Burk pointed out the public education system always change because they need adopt our society. In the past, everyone studied at home. Nowadays, everyone is studying at school. It has been created a good environment that has more social contact with each other. Also, there is more and more people began to pay attention on public education system. We have realized that learning from experiences is more important than learning from books. We should have our own ideas instead of just accepting what teacher gave us. Skills what we learned from school should be used in our rest of life. Moreover, from what I have understood, he pointed out two important things which are needed to improve our public education system. The first one was public education should let everyone see that what they are doing, because parents want to know everything about their children in the school. The second one is the partnership of public education system. Parents, teachers and leaders have to work together. Otherwise public education system won’t work well. The relationship between them shouldn’t be conflict.
In conclusion, although we can’t understand everything about the content, we got a new experience from this lecture.

Love

Yesterday, we had a wonderful lecture which was about "Love" by JCastle. It is a subject relate to everyone, because of human condition( we are vulnerable, weakness, not perfect). If we without human condition, "Love" will be impossible exist. Also, there are 4 different types of "Love"from this lecture. There are Philia, Romance, Agape, and Eros. Might be these words look like new words for us, and those are so difficult to understand, but after J.Castle's explanations, it was easy to understand. Philia( friendship which is characterized by loyalty and trust). Romance(passion, characterized by "falling in love" with another). Agape(human caring, kindness we extend to others, even strangers).Eros(passion and respect for our two lives, dreams and creativity).

Now, I will express some of my ideas. Firstly, I want to talk about the friendship. Many people tell me the best friendship is in the time when we go to the High school. It is not only pure, but also we had our own idea at that time, we can realize good things and bad things. I agree with this idea. I had 3 best friends during I was in high school. We lived together, ate together, had classes together, played together, did everything together. We felt so happy. We can shared happiness and sadness. We companies with each other. I missed them so much. Also, I knew that time wouldn't change our relationship. Although, we were in different countries now, we still kept in touch. I know I was so lucky, because it was so hard that made real friend from heart.

Secondly, I want to talk about Love. From my experience, the strong feeling( fever, smile all the time..) just exist at the beginning time. In that period, people who fall in love always loss their intellect, they willing do everything for another person who they loved. But it is temporary. After few months or one year, the relationship become change, might be always fight with each other, or get annoyed with each other.At this period, I will become to confuse about this "Love". I am not sure I still love him or not. Then, after 3 years or even more, he will be more like my family member than boyfriend, and we depend upon each other... Might be we don't want to see each other all the time, but we will miss each other if we long time no see. Also, we will consider each other when we do everything. We like to give each other freedom to make our friends, and do whatever we like. Although we don't have much passion as like as in the beginning time, we feel happiness. We just need our mediocre life instead of the luxurious life.

Moreover, the love from parents is the most important !!! Children can't grow up without love . ..They always protect us. I believe even they divorce but they still love me, so I grow up as well as normal children... I never complain about that, because I think their love just can be decided by themselves. But everything won't change the fact that they love me ... Anyway, family is the most important in my life...

Happy Hour

Yesterday was Friday, after school Loc, Fox, Toby, Truc, Kathy, Tiffany, Emily, Petro, Daniela, Aurelio, Peng, Nicole, Choyi, and me we went to a Vietnamese restaurant which was recommend by Truc to have lunch..It was a big group,wasn't it? Anyway, we have a good time in there and enjoy the delicious food. We liked it. Unfortunately, I didn't take camera so that I can't take down this happy moment.
After lunch, some of us went to Karaoke.. Although we came from different countries, we still enjoy our time. .. everyone have their own characteristic...Music doesn't have national boundaries...We were happy..
Moreover, I want to thank Loc, Fox, Toby,Truc, and Peng for staying with me ... I had a excellent time.. ...Unfortunately, when we paid the bill,, the waiter lost our $20. As result Loc and me can't get our money back. Also, Fox and truc just got an half....I was so sorry about that.. Because I asked you guys to stay.... Anyway, I had a good time,,, I hope that you were too...

Happiness

The second face comes closest to expressing my whole life. I enjoying my life now! Although I have to face with some problems in my life, I would rather say those are challenges. Nobody have a perfect life. Different people has different difficulties in their own life. However, I have parents who love me so much, I have friends who always stay with me, I have teacher who always help me. I have house to live, I have clothes to wear, I have food to eat and I have good opportunities studying here. We should satisfy with everything we had. We should cherish everything we had. Therefore, I can't say I have a perfect life. But I will say I am happy in my life.

I would like to take “Linda and Josh” example to explain how different conversational expectations can lead to misunderstanding between men and women in social environments.
Josh was Linda’s husband. Their relationship became worse. Linda felt upset because Josh made plans without checking with her. Also, Josh also felt upset because he had to ask her wife’s permission before he did everything.
In this case, Linda thought checking with her husband meant they closed to each other and their life bounded up to each other. Also, it showed they considered each other. She liked it. On the other hand, Josh really didn’t like it. He thought it meant he was seeking permission. It showed he was not independent and no freedom to make decision by himself, just liked a child. From this case, it reveals even female and male use the same vocabulary, but they express different meanings. Women always use more social words and think in intimate way than man do. Men always think and express in hierarchical way. It creates distance to communicate with each other. Men are more independent than women. Therefore, female and male receive different metamessages from same words so that they misunderstand each other all the time.

Congratulation !! Our book project finished in last Friday .. I was so happy!!
Although I was not the best one, I knew i did my best. Because I know it was 5% of our final mark ..
Although our group just had two people, I thought it might be easier for us dividing the work. I thought I had little bit nerves when I presented the book, it also had some grammar mistakes, because the grammar is my biggest enemy. I have to overcome it step by step. Moreover, I have to thanks for my partner--Yufi ..because she paid for our beautiful pictures...HaHa ..just kidding .. I know she also worked so hard.
Anyway, I satisfied my presentation, but I know I will be better next time. I will improve myself.

Anne of Green Gable

Lucy Maud Montgomery is the writer of the “Anne of the Green Gables”. She was a Canadian author. She was an orphan when she was young. Her mother died of tuberculosis, and her father left after her mother death. She was raised by her grandparents, but they didn’t treat her well. In 1984, she got teaching certificate in Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown. In 1902, she went back to live with her widow grandmother in Princess Edward Island. During this time, she wrote her first book “Anne of Green Gables”. In 1908, this book was published. It became popular in the world. It was not only children’s favorite, but also be loved by adults. It has been translated into 17 different languages and has sold millions of copies. Also, it was made in films, carton, or musical forms. It was so successful that followed series of sequels with Anne. There were 8 books in total to describe the whole life of Anne.
“Anne of Green Gable” is the first section. Lucy Maud Montgomery emphasized the childhood of Anne in this section. Anne was an orphan because her parents died of fever. She was eager for a family. Matthew and Marilla lived in Princess Edward Island (Green Gable). They were unmarried brother and sister. They wanted to adopt a boy to help them do the farm work. But they received a little red hair girl—Anne, it was entirely unexpected. Anne didn’t give up herself. She tried to work hard to let her stay. Finally, not only Matthew and Marilla, but also everyone loved her. After many years, Anne graduated from high school. She had a best chance to study with scholarship in Redmond, but she give up, because of Matthew’s death. She wanted to stay in this small island and look after Marilla. She thought it is worthy because she loved her “family” very much. Lucy Maud Montgomery created this little girl who everybody loved because she was an orphan who nobody loved when she was young. She wanted to inspire herself and everyone who live without love. Family and friends are very important for us. We should cherish everything we had, especially love. We should appreciate everyone who loved us. Also, Anne’s optimistic spirit helps her overcome difficulties one by one, never afraid of challenges.
The most success of this book is the attractiveness of Anne’s character. She was an optimistic and hardy girl, although she had a hard life before she came to Green Gables, she wasn’t a pessimistic and never give up. She had full of enthusiasm for everything. Even she just lived in a very small Island—Princess Edward Island. There were no TV, no radio, and no car at that time, but she still enjoyed the life. She was a nature-lover. She had an enormous imagination. She could talk with trees, flowers, river, birds and so on. Also, She is a frank and talkative girl, expressed everything what she thought or imaged. This was also the reason why this book is so popular in Japan. Little girls in Japan were careful to observe the proprieties. They can’t speak out whatever they like. Therefore, they curious about this little girl and had a great yearning to be her.
This book is in chronological order, it is easy for reader to follow and understand the story. Also, it is encourage novel, especially for people who are facing problems and feel hopeless. Don’t worry, this book will give you power of hope in the life and it may be help them begin a new life. Moreover, you must be attracted by the wonderful descriptions in this book. You will have pictures in your mind. Furthermore, it is very realistic because the author putted some her experiences in the story. After finishing this book, you must desire to visit Princess Edward Island where did Anne grow up. It is an amazing place!! This is an amazing book!

Artical (news paper)

In his article "Keep them out of school" publish in The Gazette, 7, April, 2008, by Pierre Home present his opinion about why student need keep cellphone out of school. According to the author, he points out student keep cellphone in the school will lead to some problems. From the point of author, Studying is a hard working, student need concentrate and focus on learning. Therefore , problems of student keep cellphone are many students sent the message in the class, talking on the phone in the class, and cellphone goes off in class so that interrupts the hole class. Moreover, he mentions about the biggest problem against his idea is parents. They say they can't connect with their children without cellphone. Even some teacher think if they can create an interesting class, student won't use cellphone. But according to authors ideal, it is doesn't work. Because it is impossible to make classes as interesting as what cellphone provide.

In my opinion, I almost agree with Pierre Home , It is work for day pupils in the school. But I think banned cellphones in the classroom is more reasonable than in the school. Because there are some student who live in the school and go back home once a week. Cellphone is very convenient to them, also it is easier for parents to keep touching with their children. Of course, ban the cellphone in the class is necessary , also teacher have right to confiscated it, patent should support teacher do that. Because education is a hard work not only depend on school, but also depend on parents. They should work together.

Talking about Learing Languages

1) The differences between Chinese and English are huge in their forms and pronunciation. The alphabet of English is from 26 letters. But in Chinese, there is no letter , we call that " character". Also in pronunciation, English depends on phonetics.

Chinese depends on Phonetic transcription. There are 4 different tones. If one letter has different tones , they will express different meanings.

When we express our idea, we don't have tenses, but we have some symbols of words such as yesterday, today, future and so on in the sentences, and we needn't care about the transference of verbs at the same time. On the other hand, the order of subject , verb and object is almost like English.

2) I suppose there are several reasons could explain why some people learn a second language more easily than others. Firstly, they have good skills on studying language and working hard. For example , they constantly looks for patterns in language, guessing words or practise as often as possible ..... The second one is environment. People who begin learning in childhood or live in a family who speak different languages are learning much easier than others.

3) I think "smart" for me to learning other languages is not the most important, diligentce is more important.

4) From my experience, translating is not useful, using dictionary when you see new words , pretending you understand, and making list of words when you are learning the second language. On contrary, watching lots of movies, TV shows,singing in English, reading book,speak out and willing make mistakes are much usefulness when we are learning second language.

5)Learning another language can change the personality of a person. Because we not only learned how to speak and write when we are learning second language, but also learned about the different culture. Taking me be an example, my second language is English, so my parents sent me to Canada to study English. It is an important turning point in my life. In here , I have to be speak out, have to be a vivacious person so that can make friends. Also, I have to be more independent because I stay away from my parents.

6) Learning English doesn't change my appreciation of my first language yet. But it might be because I staied here is not long enough. Actually, If I learn for a long time and speak English all the time , It will confuse me. So far, I just forget some words in my first language.

7) Learning English at CE LI can improve speaking , listening, reading and writing. But other English courses always just focus on one part, especially in Grammar.

8)The advice for other people who just start to study English at CE LI is doing everything what teachers ask to do. Do your best and never absent from the class. Anyway, I have a good experience here...
